What types of equipment do you buy?
We look at excavators, skid steers, track loaders, backhoes, bulldozers, wheel loaders, forklifts, dump trucks, cranes, motor graders, telehandlers, compactors, and trailers (lowboy, flatbed, dump, gooseneck, reefer and enclosed). If you have something not on this list, contact us anyway.
Do you buy equipment that doesn't run?
Often, yes. We make offers on running, non-running and project machines. Condition changes the number, and if we don't buy a machine you can still list it free on the marketplace.
How is the offer calculated?
We use recent public auction results, current dealer asking prices, hours, year, and condition. Dealer asking prices usually run above where machines sell, so auction results carry more weight. The goal is an offer we can stand behind, not the lowest number you'll accept.
Who handles transport?
We don't run our own trucks. When we buy a machine, we help coordinate a flatbed or lowboy hauler, and who pays for transport is written into the offer before anything moves. Marketplace sellers arrange pickup with their buyer.
What if you don't want to buy my machine?
We tell you within one business day. You can then list it free on the HeavyDutyYard marketplace, where we review the listing before it goes live and screen buyer messages before they reach you.
How do I get paid?
Payment method and timing are agreed in writing as part of the offer, before the machine is picked up. On the marketplace, buyers pay sellers directly.
Do I need a title?
You need to show you own the machine and that it's free of liens. Many machines have no title, so a bill of sale, purchase invoice or lender release often does the job. If paperwork is missing, contact us before submitting.
Can I sell a whole fleet at once?
Yes. Send the full equipment list through the fleet page or by email. We reply within one business day and make offers on the units we buy.
What if I reject the offer?
No problem. There's no obligation at any point. You can still list the machine free on our marketplace.
