A cushion tire forklift rides on solid rubber tires pressed onto the wheel. It sits lower and turns tighter, so it suits smooth concrete floors in warehouses and plants. A pneumatic tire forklift rides on air-filled or solid pneumatic tires with a deeper tread, so it can work outdoors on asphalt, gravel, and yards. Model codes usually tell you which one you have: a “C” in Toyota (8FGCU25), Mitsubishi (FGC25N), and Yale (GC050VX) codes means cushion; Hyster splits them into S-series (cushion) and H-series (pneumatic).
